Meet Our Team

DeLaune is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She moved to Alabama to attend Samford University and has been here ever since. She obtained a master’s degree in social work from the University of Alabama and worked as a substance abuse counselor in Birmingham while Dr. Carlson finished dental school. They have been married since 2006 and have two active, young boys. DeLaune only agreed to help Dr. Carlson open the practice and get things up and running – but more than ten years later, she is still here!

This is truly their family business, and she makes it a point that our patients are treated and welcomed like extended family. If she is not in the office or chasing the boys around, she enjoys reading, doing crossword puzzles, cooking or planning their next family adventure. DeLaune’s ardent support of LSU athletics often strains their marriage during football season.

Becky grew up in Orlando, Florida but has been in Alabama since 1991 when she moved here to attend the University of Alabama. She was a part of the Flag Corp in the Million Dollar Band and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management. Becky has worked in the dental and medical fields since 2000 and brings great experience and understanding to the practice. She joined our office in April 2013 and enjoys forming great relationships with our patients and how everyone treats each other as family.

Becky and her husband have been married for almost 30 years and have three wonderful children: two sons and one daughter. Their oldest son is a first lieutenant in the Army, their other son is in the Coast Guard and their daughter is currently attending Mississippi State University. In her spare time, Becky is usually found crafting and crocheting or serving at Taylorville United Methodist Church. Becky is also animal lover and is a proud owner of three dogs.

Molly grew up in Gadsden, Alabama, and has been in Tuscaloosa since 2006. She has been caring for dental patients since 2003 and enjoys building relationships with her patients and coworkers. She worked as a dental assistant for 10 years and joined our team at Tuscaloosa General Dentistry after completing the Alabama dental hygiene program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2014.

She and her husband have three beautiful girls and spend most of their free time on the soccer fields, watching Alabama football and traveling. The same competitive spirit that drives Molly to excel at Crossfit, gives her great satisfaction when she can win over a patient who used to dread the dental office!

Stephanie grew up in Myrtlewood, Alabama, and moved to Tuscaloosa in 2008. She and her husband have a lively young daughter. Stephanie started working in the dental field as an assistant when she was only 19 years old. Her compassionate care and gentle touch made it a natural transition to become a registered dental hygienist and join our team in December 2015.

Stephanie enjoys building relationships with her patients and coworkers who all exhibit a positive attitude. She loves that moment of surprise and joy when a patient sees their clean teeth for the first time after avoiding the dentist for a while. But do not let her sweet voice and feminine demeanor fool you – when she is not polishing your pearly whites, you will find her fishing, hunting or honing her skills at the shooting range.

Marianna is a native of Carrolton, Alabama, and she moved to Tuscaloosa in 2013. She attended Shelton State and the University of Alabama before she decided to join the dental field. She has been Dr. Carlson’s right-hand since she joined the team as a dental assistant in December 2016, and she contributes to our success with her positive attitude. Marianna’s favorite part of the job is helping patients find new confidence in their smiles and building relationships with her patients and coworkers.

Marianna is newly married and is an active member at the Church of the Highlands where she has participated in and led small group studies in addition to attending Highlands College for ministry & leadership. When she is not at church or work, she enjoys cooking, running, being outdoors, Alabama football and working as high ropes facilitator at the True Vine Foundation course.

Kimberly is a native of Tuscaloosa and joined us in August 2022. She attended the Accelerated Dental Assisting Academy where she received certificates in dental assisting, dental radiography and CPR/BLS. She contributes to the success of our office with her positive demeanor, reliability, strong communication skills and willingness to lend a helping hand. She admires how well everyone works as a team and strives to provide the best care for our patients. Kimberly is a mother to three wonderful boys and enjoys traveling, shopping and singing.
