DeLaune is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She moved to Alabama to attend Samford University in Birmingham, and has been here ever since. She obtained a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama and worked as a substance abuse counselor in Birmingham while Dr. Carlson finished dental school. They have been married since 2006. DeLaune has joined Dr. Carlson's practice as the front office manager. If she's not in the office, she can be found playing with their young son or the family dog, cooking, or planning their next family adventure. DeLaune's ardent support of LSU athletics often strains their marriage during football season.
Becky grew up in Orlando, Florida but has been in Alabama since 1991 when she moved here to attend the University of Alabama. She was a part of the Flag Corp in the Million Dollar Band and graduated with a bachelor's degree in healthcare management. She has worked in the dental and medical fields since 2000 and brings great experience and understanding to the practice. In her spare time she will most likely be found at the ballpark or cheerleading events with her husband and three children. Becky and her family are huge Alabama fans and their football tailgate was even featured in Southern Living!
HollieRegistered Dental Hygienist
Hollie is originally from Columbus, Mississippi and after years in various southeastern cities, her family has decided to settle down in Tuscaloosa. She began her career in dentistry more than 25 years ago in Mississippi and is currently licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee. She has nearly 20 years of dental experience and spent most of that time specializing in the treatment and maintenance of Periodontal Disease. When she took time away from the dental field, she and her husband owned an outdoor store in Tennessee, which fostered her love of travel, hiking, and rafting. When she's not at the office, it's likely that Hollie can be found doing anything outdoors, cooking, entertaining, taligaiting, or all of the above!
Melody is originally from Miami, Florida but has lived in Alabama for more than 20 years. She started her career as a nurse in 1982 and has been in the medical and dental field ever since. She has been with Dr. Meriwether for 19 years and with that experience brings consistency and compassion to the practice. She takes pride in the relationships she has developed throughout that time, while helping people to keep their teeth for a lifetime. When she's not in the office, Melody loves working in the yard and volunteering with veterans and local animal shelters. (Which is where she found Samantha, her precious rescue dog!)
MollyRegistered Dental Hygienist
Molly grew up in Gadsden, Alabama and has been in Tuscaloosa since 2006. She has been caring for dental patients since 2003, first as a dental assistant and more recently as a Registered Dental Hygienist. She and her husband have 3 beautiful girls and 2 crazy dogs. They spend most of their free time on the soccer fields, watching Alabama football, and travelling to watch her husband's band perform. The same competitive spirit that drives Molly to excel at Crossfit gives her great satisfaction when she can win over a patient who used to dread the dental office!
StephanieRegistered Dental Hygienist
Stephanie grew up in Myrtlewood, Alabama and moved to Tuscaloosa in 2008. She started working in the dental field as an assistant when she was only 19 years old. She has shown compassionate care to her patients ever since and became a Registered Dental Hygienist in 2013. She and her husband Blake have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. When she's not polishing your pearly whites, she can be found hunting, fishing, cheering on Alabama football, or just about anything else outdoors.
Emily was born and raised in Tuscaloosa and graduated from Sipsey Valley High School where she loved playing on the softball team. She got her first job in the dental field right after she graduated and has taken pride in learning how to put patients at ease and feel happy with their care. Her favorite part of dental assisting is seeing patients fall in love with their smiles and educating them on their treatment alongside the doctors. When she's not working, Emily is usually spending time with her family and friends, kayaking, going to the gym, reading a good book, or attending Church of the Highlands!
